Discover Lithuania by visiting its Must-See attractions - the biggest cities Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipeda, each unique in its own way, Lithuanian seaside with its beautiful beaches of white sand, The Curonian Spit - UNESCO World Heritage site - a narrow strip of land between the waters of the Curonian Lagoon and the Baltic Sea, Trakai Island Castle amidst the lake, a hill with more than 200 000 crosses - The Hill of Crosses, feel the spirit of Lithuanians' past in Rumsiskes Etnographic Open-Air Museum. Enjoy the beauty of nature and cultural heritage in Lithuania.

DAILY ITINERARY 

Day 1: VILNIUS
Arrival to Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. Transfer to hotel.
Afternoon Vilnius City Tour including the most interesting architectural and historic monuments of the 16 th.-19 th. centuries, such as majestic Classical Vilnius Cathedral with the history dating back to the 14 th. century, a graceful 16 th c. St. Anne's Church - a gem of the Lithuanian Gothic, the Vilnius University founded in 1579, the Dawn Gate with a holy icon of Virgin Mary etc.
Overnight.

Day 2: VILNIUS - TRAKAI - VILNIUS

A morning tour to Ss. Peter and Paul's Church, a gem of the 17 th. century Lithuanian Baroque. The Church is located a bit further from the Old Town of Vilnius. Because it served as a fortress, the church is mostly famous for its magnificent interior, 2 thousand figures, created by two Italian masters - a real world of sculpture.
After visiting it there follows a pleasant 28 km. drive to Trakai, the ancient Lithuanian capital, famous for its 15 th c. Gothic Castle, now housing a historic Museum, with five picturesque lakes around. Optional boat ride around the lakes of Trakai and tasting traditional food of Karaities, a small ethnic group who came from Crimea 600 years ago.
Late afternoon return to Vilnius. Free time. Overnight.


Day 3: VILNIUS - RUMSISKES OPEN AIR MUSEUM - KAUNAS
On the way to Kaunas you are welcome to visit Rumsiskes Open-air Museum located very close to Kaunas, perfectly illustrating the 18th - 19th c. Lithuanian peasant life. As Lithuania itself, it is divided into 4 ethnographic regions, each with distinct traditions of its own in architecture and customs, which perfectly recreate the country's rural life many generation ago. A visit to Pazaislis Monastery erected in the middle of the 17th century by Camalduli monks where visitors can see the famous miraculous image of Virgin Mary.
Arriving to Kaunas. Accommodation. Free time. Overnight.

Day 4: KAUNAS

Enjoy a full day's sightseeing in Kaunas including the most interesting sites of the Old Town: a majestic 15 th-18 th c. Cathedral, a graceful Town Hall in the centre of the Square, surrounded by the 15 th-16 th c. merchants' houses, early 15 th century Vytautas Church, Unity Square with the monuments to Lithuania's independence. You can visit the Art Gallery of Chiurlionis, the outstanding Lithuanian artist and composer. Do not miss a nearby Devils' Museum with funny figures of all kinds of devils. We reccomend you an optional tour to one of the biggest and most popular producers of strong alcoholic drinks in Lithuania - Stumbras (Wisent). After excursion a proffesional tasting of Stumbras' drinks is held.
Overnight in Kaunas.


Day 5: KAUNAS - KLAIPEDA - THE CURONIAN SPIT - PALANGA

Departure from Kaunas for Klaipeda, the Lithuanian sea-port with a long history since the times of a fishing village of ancient Balts and later arrival to these lands of German Crusaders who built their castle here in 1252, later known as ‘ Memel '. Walking tour of the Old Town of Klaipeda including old Castle territory, Theatre Square with the fountain named after the 17th c. german poet Simon Dach, a statue of a Annie of Tharau, the subject of a famous German wedding amd love song, in the middle of the fountain. A tour to a unique area of Lithuania - Curonian Spit - a narrow strip of land between the waters of the Curonian Lagoon and the Baltic Sea. 2 major stops: the first is in Juodkrante where you can get acquainted with impressive wooden sculptures of legendary heroes in a dense pine wood - The Hill Of Witches, the second one - Nida, the most exiting part of this area with majestic 50 m high sand dunes, Thomas Mann Memorial House, Amber Gallery.
A further drive to Palanga. Accommodation. Dinner at hotel and overnight.


Day 6: PALANGA

Morning city tour in Palanga, the most popular Lithuanian sea resort, meeting its visitors with kilometres-long beaches of white clean sand, fresh sea breeze full of pines, salt, iodine aroma, a noisy Basanaviciaus street with numerous live music restaurants - an open concert street in summer time attracting hundreds of holiday makers each evening after sunset. Visit the famous Amber Museum in the in the neo-classical 19th century palace amidst a beautiful park designed by a French architect Andre. Free time to relax in the cool embrace of the Baltic sea waves and soft white sand dunes.
Overnight.


Day 7: PALANGA - THE HILL OF CROSSES - VILNIUS

After breakfast at hotel departure to Vilnius via the Hill of Crosses. There are more than 200 000 crosses on the hill erected as signs of piety and gratitude to God. Now it is a sacral place in Lithuania.
Late afternoon arrival to Vilnius. 
Accommodation. Free time and overnight.


Day 8

Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to the airport. Flight home.
