Discover Lithuania and Kaliningrad by visiting the cities and places rich with their history. Each one of them will tell you different story.

DAILY ITINERARY 


Day 1
Arrival to Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. Transfer to hotel for accommodation.

Day 2: VILNIUS

Morning Vilnius City Tour including the Cathedral erected on the legendary site where the city was founded and pagan Gods were worshipped as far back as the 13th century, Gediminas Castle rising on the hill above the city centre, the elegant St.Anne's Church - a gem of the Lithuanian Gothics, the Vilnius University, a famous centre of science since its foundation in 1579, the Dawn Gate with a holy image of Virgin Mary. Afternoon visit to the Applied Art Museum and St.Peter and Paul's Church, famous for its 17th c.baroque interior,a real world of sculpture.
Overnight in Vilnius.


Day 3: VILNIUS - THE HILL OF CROSSES - PALANGA - KLAIPEDA

Departure from Vilnius for Klaipeda, the Lithuanian sea-port with an en route stop near Šiauliai at the Hill of Crosses, a holy site of Catholic piligrimage. Next stop in Palanga, the most popular Lithuanian sea resort, famous for its kilometres-long beaches of white sand. Do not miss the Amber Museum, founded in a neo-classical 19th century palace amidst a park designed by the French architect Andre. On arriving to Klaipeda a walk around its Old Town with a long history since 1252 when the German Knights conquered this land and built their castle around which the city was founded later known as Memel.

 in Klaipeda.


Day 4: KLAIPEDA - THE CURONIAN SPIT - KALININGRAD

Early morning departure for Kaliningrad via the Curonian Spit, a unique area of Lithuania, called Neringa, between the waters of the Curonian Lagoon and the Baltic Sea. 2 stops on the spit after its crossing by ferry from Klaipeda. The first in Juodkrante to get acquainted with the Hill of Witches. A further drive along the Spit will bring you to Nida, the most romantic and serene part of the spit with majestic 50 m high sand dunes, Thomas Mann Memorial House, the ancient Curonian Cemetery. After crossing the Lithuanian - Russian border near Nida and a few hours drive along the spit, arrival to Kaliningrad.

Day 5: KALININGRAD - YANTARNY - KALININGRAD

Morning Kaliningrad City Tour including the historic 13th c. Cathedral, the tomb of a famous German philosopher Immanuel Kant beside its walls, the University, Dona Bastion, Lasch Bunker and other sights of the old German cultural heritage of this city, so famous in the European history for the past 700 years under the name of Koenigsberg.
Afternoon tour to Yantarny(Palmniken), a small village being the centre of most of the world's amber production with its open-castle mines and factory where one can see how raw amber is polished into bright sparkling stones.
Overnight in Kaliningrad.


Day 6: KALININGRAD - SOVETSK - KAUNAS - VILNIUS

Morning return drive to Lithuania via Sovietsk (Tilsit) to Vilnius, along a picturesque Nemunas riverside road. En route stop for sightseeing in Kaunas, second largest Lithuania's city , including the most interesting sites of the Old Town: the Cathedral, Town Hall,early 15th c. Vytautas Church and other attractions of the city's history. Visit Chiurlionis Art Gallery where you can see the philosophic paintings of Lithuania's famous artist and composer. Do not miss Devils Museum nearby, a funny collection of wooden, ceramic, glass devil figures.
Evening drive to Vilnius. Accommodation and overnight.


Day 7: VILNIUS - TRAKAI - VILNIUS

A pleasant morning tour to Trakai, the ancient Lithuanian capital, famous for its early 15th c. Gothic Castle, now housing History Museum, amidst five picturesque lakes.
Return to Vilnius. Afternoon free. Overnight.


Day 8

Morning free for independent activities. Departure from Vilnius.
